For Mulan II, a straight-to-video sequel widely considered one of the worst Disney films of its kind, Atomic Kitten play out the film with a song about wanting to eat cake and not wear platform shoes. In both the animated classic Mulan and its new live-action remake, poignancy is provided by Christina Aguilera’s Reflection, a superlative, Mariah Carey-style power ballad about dreams and determination that appears over both of their end credits.
